Ester Almqvist: Jag lever i två världar

Ester Almqvist (1869–1934) has described her life as living in two worlds. In the one she was, together with her artist friends, "the sun people". In the second she lived with her old mother at the Småland farm Fogdeholm Based on the vast collection at Malmö Konstmuseum,it includes landscapes from the turn of the century to portraits of women and colourful industrial scenes. Through the work of Ester Almqvist we encounter the breakthrough of modern art and the story of the women's networks that flourished in the early 1900s.
